COMPUTATIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND VIDEO & IMAGE ANALYSIS TRACK

A special track on the Computational Intelligence and Video & Image Analysis (CIVIA) will be held at SAC '13.  It will be a forum for engineers, researchers and practitioners throughout the world to share technical ideas and experiences related to the implementation and applications of Computational Intelligence, to Video & Image Analysis,  and even to Systems Biology & BioMedicine. Many conferences have been dedicated to Evolutionary Computing (ICEC, GECCO, PPSN, etc), Video & Image Analysis (ICIAR, ICIAP, ICASSP, IJCAI, etc) and Systems Biology & BioMedical Engineering (ICSB, RECOMB, BME, etc), but they don’t offer much on the blending of Computational Logic, Boolean Satisfiability and Soft Computing tools to address practical applications of Image Analysis and Bio Systems Modeling and Simulations. Thus, the research papers involved with applying computational intelligence techniques to video and image analyses would be welcome no matter how theoretical they are, should they have practical applications. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

·         Applications of Artificial Intelligence

·         Computational Intelligence

·         Artificial Immune Systems

·         Boolean Satisfiability (SAT)

·         Collective Computing

·         Computational Logic

·         Heuristic Search

·         Video & Image Analysis/Pattern Recognition

·         Image Segmentation and Classification

·         Video Classification

·         Video Content Analysis

·         Video Indexing

·         Content-based Retrieval

·         Video on Demand

·         Biomedical Signal & Image Processing

·         Fuzzy logic and Rough set applications

·    Knowledge-based System & Representation

·         Logic-based Artificial Intelligence

·         Knowledge Representation

·         Machine Learning

·         Neural Networks

·         Systems Biology

·         Selective Self-Organization

·         Simulation of Swarm Intelligence

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION

Original paper from the above mentioned areas will be considered. This includes three categories of submissions:

1)       Original and unpublished research

2)       Reports of  innovative  artificial  intelligence  applications  in  the  arts,  sciences,  engineering,  business,  government,  education  and  industry.

3)       Reports of successful technology transfer to new problem domains.

Each category of submissions will be reviewed by peer groups appropriate to that category. Accepted papers in all categories will be published in the symposium proceedings. Expanded version of best selected paper from all categories will be considered for publication in the ACM/SIGAPP quarterly Applied Computing Review or one of the other participating SIGs' publications. Submission guidelines must be strictly followed:

1)        Submissions will be in electronic format, via  the website  site http://www.acm.org/conferences/sac/sac2013/

2)        The author(s) name(s) and address(es) must not appear  in  the body of  the paper, and self-reference should be in the third person. Acknowledgements’ and self-references should be stated to be added later. This is to facilitate blind review.

3)        Authors are allowed up to 8 pages. Final camera ready should not exceed 5 pages; there is a charge of 80USD per extra page. A few Keywords should be provided.

4)        Deadlines will be strictly enforced.

5)        NOTE: Papers cannot be sent to more than one track.

JOURNAL PUBLICATION

Some selected papers will be invited for publication in a special issue of International Journal on Artificial Intelligence Tools (http://www.worldscinet.com/ijait/mkt/aims_scope.shtml) or ACM ACR
